Every runner has unique feet. At Karhu, we don’t dictate how our shoes should fit. We let you, the runner, be involved. Using the data from state-of-the-art 3D foot imaging machines, Karhu builds its shoes based off of real runners' foot scans. As a result, Karhu delivers a footwear collection built by the runner, for the runner.
We like to call this “Every Runner’s Rights.”
Every runner has the right to the best fitting shoe for optimal performance. By gathering foot scan data and designing shoes to better accommodate the average shapes and unique foot characteristics, Karhu is able to provide a nearly personalized footwear experience.

Every Runner’s Rights is based on the egalitarian Finnish concept of “everyman’s rights” which allows public access to anyone living or visiting Finland the freedom to roam the countryside and enjoy the recreational use of natural areas.
EVERY RUNNER’S RIGHT MEETS FUSION
The first model highlighted by Every Runner’s Rights is the all-new Fusion 2021. In our research for the ideal fit for women, we compared men’s and women’s foot scans. We discovered the two most significant differences in measurement were at the instep and the forefoot. By creating a gender specific footwear last and adjusting the fit at the instep and forefoot, Karhu proudly introduces a female shoe construction called HeraFit.
The Fusion 2021 functions as a high cushion daily trainer with more forefoot protection, a shortened fulcrum, and the addition of a propulsion unit. The midsole combination of the fulcrum and propulsion unit gives the Fusion a plush and energetic ride with a fast transition.
In order to accommodate more foot shapes, the Fusion is now offered in HiVo (high volume) which provides extra room in the upper for toes to splay. The Fusion 2021 is ideal for neutral runners seeking a cushioned, durable ride while logging daily miles or when picking up the pace during higher intensity efforts.
